The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
I supplied Frank Baum’s (American actor, filmmaker and author of the Wizard of Oz amongst others) great grandson with photographs today. Somewhat ironically they were photographs of his great grandfather. Seems like quite a random way to start my post today. I have much to catch up on, including my brother’s wedding, the Paris pub music quiz, the olive oil shop and the pleasures of simple French foods… Right now work is keeping me pretty occupied!

Do you have scans of the photographs? They would be of great interest to the International Wizard of Oz Club.

Imagine my surprise as I’m searching for blogs about my favorite movie (Oz) and come across this site set in Paris–my other passion! I’m a French teacher! What I want to know is, are you talking about Roger Baum? I had the serendipitous pleasure of meeting him once! Is he there in Paris? Can you post the photos? This is too cool! I look forward to reading about the olive oil shop and simple French foods. A la prochaine…!
Hi Blair and RubyRed – thanks for swinging by!
It was actually Robert Baum who contacted me – he’s helping out an Oz museum in Kansas right now, and seems like a very nice chap.
I’d be happy to post some previews when I get the chance.
Ruby – I could do with restarting French lessons again when I get the chance, it seems learning French and actually practicing it in France are two different things!
